11-2. Replacing the Positive Lamp Lead Wire
When replacing the lamp, if the lead wire or terminals are soiled or discolored, polish them with
sandpaper. If the damage is severe, replace the lead wire with a new one. Continuing to use a
damaged lead wire could cause the lamp to become damaged.
Take note of the following when replacing the lamp:
1. Turn off the power, and unplug the power cord.
2. Wait at least 30 minutes after pulling out the power cord, before starting work.
1
Loosen 1 bolt, and remove the lamp cover on top of the
main unit.
2
Remove 7 bolts, and remove the main unit cover.
3
With the lamp mounting bracket pulled down, remove the
knurl screw, and remove the lead wire from the lamp. Also,
after removing the screw to free the dividing plate,
remove the high voltage screw and remove the plus lead.
4
Remove the old lead wire from the PCB, and mount the
replacement lead wire in the same way.
5
Pass the lamp lead wire through the lamp screw hole,
then fasten the knurl nut (removed in step 3) securely
back in place.
6
Replace the lamp cover and lock it in place.
When mounting the main-unit cover, make sure not to pinch the lead wire.
