1-9. REV Tension Confirmation

180mN ± 20mN (18gf ± 1gf)
1. Open the “SERVO ADJUST” menu in the Service
Menu and select the item “A07: TENSION”.
Place the unit in the loading completion mode
without cassette tape. (Refer the note in
Paragraph 1-6.)
2. Push the tension post to the direction R by the
tension gauge under the loading condition until
the output voltage reaches 1.1V (REV position).
3. Confirm that the measured value by the Torque
gauge is within the specification while keeping the
voltage 1.1V.
4. If it is out of specification, readjust the “1-8.
Tension Regulator Spring Adjustment”.
5. After finishing the A/C Head adjustment, one drop
of screw lock tight glue should be applied to the
portions (A) and (B) as shown in figure 1-9-1.

* Please calibrate Tension Meter before tension
measurement by the following procedure.
<Calibration of the Tension Meter>
1. Attach the 7 grams calibration weight to DVCPRO
tape. (The plumb is included in VFK1145.)
2. Set the above tape to the Tension Meter as shown
in figure 1-10-1.
3. Pull up the tape at 33mm/sec speed to the
direction of tape running, and calibrate the Meter
so that the meter shows 68.6cN (7g).
* To calibrate Tension Meter the tape must be pulled
up in the direction of tape path of VTR as shown
in figure 1-10-1.

<Confirmation>
1. Play back the beginning of tape.
2. Insert the tension meter between S2 post and S3
post as shown in figure 1-10-2.
3. Confirm that the tension is within the specification.
4. If it is out of specification, follow the flowchart of
the Tension Arm Adjustment.

NOTE:
Do not use any alignment tape for this adjustment.
Pay attention not to damage the tape.
