B.3.2 The Operator Account
The operator account is provided to perform limited configuration management of the Aurora H2O Ethernet option.
The operator account has a reduced set of options, permissions, and capabilities. It is designed for use by field
personnel performing commissioning or service of the Aurora H2O.
The operator account allows the user to:
• Enable/Disable DHCP
• Specify a static IP, subnet, and gateway IP address
• Modify some of the serial protocol settings
• View the serial port connection status
• View the TCP/IP connection status
• View the Ethernet option firmware version, serial port and network diagnostics
The default login credentials for the operator account are:
• Username:operator
• Password:operator
The operator password should be changed at the earliest opportunity. Only the root account has permission to
change the operator password. The steps for changing the operator password are the same as for changing the root
password (see “The Root Account” on page 19 ). Select the operator account from the user configuration screen (see
Figure 109 on page 20 ), then enter and confirm the new password.
Note: If the operator password is lost, it can always be reset using the root account.
Please note that the root account can also create other types of accounts, with different privilege levels. This is not
recommended, and should only be performed by experienced operations personnel. BH Oil & Gas can only assist
with the use of root and operator accounts.
