How To  
Memory upgrade  

Can I upgrade my PaceBook’s memory and how hard 

is it to do? 

The PaceBook has been designed to allow for easy and convenient upgrades. See A-2 for 

details on how to upgrade the memory. 

 

HDD upgrade  

Is it possible to change the HDD by myself? 

Yes, but we don’t recommend doing it yourself, please send it to our repair center or a 

qualified computer center. If you feel confident to upgrade, follow the directions in A-5. 

Insert a PC Card  

How do I use a PC Card?  

PC Cards are inserted Upside-down, the reason for this is that several mobile communication 

cards have a small dongle built-in and if this is oriented up it will interfere with the curve 

located over the PC Card. There is a warning label on the plastic PC Card protector. Also PC 

Cards can only be inserted in one way, if it doesn’t work turn it around and try again. Do NOT 
use force! 

Connecting an Optical Drive  

How do I attach a CD-ROM (or DVD, Combo drive)? 

Use the special cable supplied with the CD-ROM, it’s a dual headed cable including both IEEE-

1394 and Power. Both ends of the cable are the same. Standard cable length is 80cm, you can 

order longer cables or custom made cables from PaceBlade.
