Chapter 9 Connectors and 
Peripherals 

9.1 VGA port 

Via the VGA port, you can connect an external monitor, such as a 

standard CRT monitor or an LCD projector.  

The VGA dongle is a standard accessory with your PaceBook. Use it to 

connect a standard VGA connector to the PaceBook. 

9.2 Faxmodem 

Your PaceBook has a built in Faxmodem. Use this port for 

telephone connections to your “dial-up” ISP, for fax or Internet 

services. 

9.3 LAN port 

The 10/100Mbps Ethernet port can be used for networking or 
broadband connections to the Internet through a LAN, cable or 

xDSL modem. 

9.4 Audio connectors 

There are two audio connectors; Microphone and Speaker out. Your 

PaceBook includes a built-in microphone and two stereo speakers.  

9.5 USB port 

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus; this is a connector for keyboard, 

mouse, digital camera, joystick, printer, scanner etc. The USB has replaced 
older ports like Serial and Parallel as well as PS/2. These ports can be used via a port 

replicator. The PaceBook has one standard USB 2.0 port on the side of the PaceBook.. For
