4.4 Keyboard power switch and power management
Your PaceBook’s keyboard has been designed with advanced power management functionality
in IR mode. If the keyboard is not used for 10 minutes, the touchpad completely deactivates.
To wake the keyboard up, press any key, and within a few seconds the keyboard and
touchpad will be fully activated.
We recommend that you turn off the keyboard by sliding the keyboard power switch to the
OFF position when you are not using the IR mode, as even when it is not transmitting, it will
continue to draw battery power. For best performance, PaceBlade recommends using Duracell
brand alkaline batteries in your PaceBook.
4.5 Touchpad
The built-in touchpad device on the wireless keyboard can be used to
control the mouse pointer (cursor). The touchpad is the flat, square area
located just below the keyboard. The touchpad device detects the position
or movement of a finger in contact with it. To move the pointer, slide your
finger in the direction you would like it to move. The functions of the
buttons on a standard two-button mouse are replicated by the two buttons
beneath the touchpad. It is also possible to ‘left-click’ by tapping on the
touchpad surface.
4.6 Replacing the keyboard batteries
The lifespan of the keyboard batteries depends on how much you use IR (wireless) mode. If
the keyboard is used wirelessly everyday, they will between 1 and 2 months, however with a
combination of USB and wireless usage, they will last much longer. To preserve battery power,
always switch the keyboard off when you are not using the IR mode. For optimal performance
we recommend Duracell brand batteries.
