7. CONVERTER INSTALLATION
The maximum transmission length from the sensor is 30 meters. Install the converter within this length.
The converter requires steel pipe 2 inches (50mm) in diameter with furnished U-bolt. See the figure
below.

Locations under any of the following conditions should be avoided:

Difficult for inspection and
maintenance.
②
Temperature change and/or
vibration is excessive.
③
Possible immersion in water.

Converter must be installed using flameproof
installation procedure.

Sensor terminal box must be installed using
intrinsically safe installation procedure.

While the stanchion mounting hardware is furnished, the stanchion itself must be provided by the
customer.

Procedure

①
Turn off the power.
②
Remove the cover clamp then remove the
cover. A hex key (JIS B 4648, nominal size 3)
is required. (Fig.6.12)
③
Separate the shield strip. A Phillips screwdriver
is required. (Fig.6.13)
④
Disconnect sensor leads from the terminal block.
A Phillips screwdriver is required. (Fig.6.13)
⑤
Loosen four hex socket head screws securing
the terminal box's neck. A hex key (JIS B
4648, nominal size 4) is required. (Fig.6.13)
⑥
Turn the terminal box to the desired direction,
exercising care not to force the sensor leads.
⑦
After rotating the terminal box, reassemble in
the reverse order of above procedure.
