6.6 Lagging Work
If temperature of the measured fluid exceeds 60
℃
, even with explosionproof enclosure, the flowmeter must
be insulated thermally (lagging).
To facilitate maintenance and servicing, simple lagging (without mortar finish) is recommended around the
flowmeter.

6.7 Flushing the Piping Assembly
If scale and sludge are expected in the piping assembly, particularly on a new installation, the piping
assembly must be thoroughly flushed before meter operation.

Flushing Procedure

Flushing should be conducted before meter installation, or using a bypass line.
If there is no bypass line, install a short pipe section in place of the meter as shown in Fig. 6.10.

If flushing with water, be careful not to allow water inside the meter. Following the flushing, thoroughly
remove moisture in the piping assembly. (Moisture on the sensor could be a cause of trouble.)
