1 Description
1.1 Application
The 17LK1=* Unilateral (UL) Knee Joint with Knee Lock Function is
exclusively
designed for
the unilateral orthotic fitting of a lower extremity. For lower extremity orthoses with locked or
free-motion knee joint. Can be used in combination with the partial-motion or locked 17LA1=*
Unilateral Ankle Joint.
When combining the 17LK1=* UL Knee Joint with the 17LA1=* UL Ankle Joint, observe the In-
structions for Use 647G201.
CAUTION
Risk of injury as a result of improper use.
For lower limb orthoses with leg relieving features,
such as an ischial tuberosity support, the 17LK1=* UL Knee Joints and 17LA1=* UL Ankle
Joints must be used in pairs, since unilateral application of these joints would compromise the
function and stability of the orthosis and thus put the patient’s safety at risk.
1.2 Indication
Cerebral paresis, post-traumatic conditions, spina bifida, condition after poliomyelitis. Paralysis
or weakness of knee extensors.
1.3 Size Selection
The knee joint is available in three sizes, left/right in flexion position 5°. The size is selected ac-
cording to the body weight and lower leg length:
