1.6.3 Bluetooth Headset
The Bluetooth headset (Figure 16) can be used to listen to the audible
alarms and indicators privately or in a noisy environment. The headset is
paired to the unit at the factory and is ready for use. Simply remove the
headset from its packaging and power it on. It will connect automatically,
and all sounds from the Detective X speaker will be rerouted to the
headset. To route the sounds back to the instrument speaker, simply
power down the headset. The headset has its own mains charger,
included in the headset packaging.
1.6.3.1 Configure a New Bluetooth Headset
This section details how to join a new headset to the Detective X. Bluetooth
settings and information are available via the Communications button on
the Settings menu. The Bluetooth tab for this page is shown in Figure 17.
1. Power up the new headset. Listen to the headset while it is being powered up and it should audibly
indicate a status such as “Ready to Pair.”
2. On the Detective X user interface, select Scan . The new headset should be found and added to the
available devices list (e.g., "Motorola H730," “HK275,” etc.).

3. Select the new headset from the detected devices list, then select Pair . The headset should indicate a
status similar to "Pairing Complete."
4. On the Detective X, select Show paired . The newly paired headset should be displayed with a status of
(Paired) .
5. Cycle power to headset. Once it is powered back on, the headset should indicate that it is “connected.”
If the Detective X audio capability is enabled (go to Settings | Advanced | Audio), then the sounds such
as Geiger counter clicks, etc., should now be audible through headset.
6. When headset is turned off, sounds will once again be emitted by the Detective X onboard speaker.
