4-1 Reader/Writer
Setting
The Reader/Writer has been designed for the user to make all the settings by
issuing commands from the host. The user can use either the COM1 or
COM2 port to make settings. However, we recommend use of the COM2 port
because its communications settings have been fixed at factory to survive a
power reset.
In order to fix the information set for the Reader/Writer to survive a power
reset, it is necessary for the user to execute the setting write command (EW)
(refer to 10) in 5-2-14 of Section 5). (This does not apply to the communica-
tions settings for the COM2 port).
4-1-1 Host Communications Setting (COM Port Setting)
Make settings for host communications by using the communications port
setting command (CP) (refer to No. 3 in 5-6-14 of Section 5).

the host and the Reader/Writer. If this control
is not performed, it is referred to as "no

ACK/NACK control. This setting will be
meaningless unless this command
(ACK/NACK control) is set to ON.
Note
(*1) The communications settings for the COM2 port can also be changed but
will return to the Default set values on resetting the power of the
Reader/Writer.
