Appendix

Replacing the Battery

The V530-R160 contains a battery that backs up the time and date information. When the battery
is nearly discharged, the message “BATTERY LOW” will be displayed at startup. Replace the
battery with an OMRON 3Z49-BAT1 Battery.
Dispose of the spent battery properly.

• Always turn OFF the power supply before replacing the battery.
• The V530-R160's clock will be reset if the new battery is not connected within 2 minutes of remov-

ing the spent battery. If the clock is inadvertently reset, the time and date will have to be set again.

Refer to page 188.

Open the battery cover on the side of the
V530-R160.

The cover can be opened with a small flat-blade
screwdriver.

The battery is mounted to the inside of the battery
cover.

2.

Hold the battery connector by its base and pull
it off.

3.

Cut the binding band that secures the battery
and remove the battery from the cover.

4.

Reverse the procedure 1 through 3 to install the new battery.

Use the new binding band included with the new battery to attach it to the battery cover.

•Do not short circuit, attempt to charge, disassemble, apply pressure that would deform to, or

incinerate the lithium battery. The lithium battery may start a fire, explode, or burn if not treated
properly.
