Setting the SPOT Metering

}The camera system measures light using the center-weighted average
method when the spot metering method is not used.
· Center-weighted average metering: Photometry method measuring
light in the central 30% area of the
field.
· Spot metering: Photometry method measuring only the light at the
central 2.5% area of the field.
1. Press the SPOT button @ to switch the spot and average metering
methods alternately. The setting can be confirmed on the INFO display.
(Example) Spot metering is set.
2. The metering area can be displayed according to the setting in the menu.
When the metering area is set to be hidden, it is displayed only for 3
seconds after the SPOT button is pressed but then is hidden again.
}By moving the slide position with the average specimen distribution at
the center and locking the exposure time, the following effects can be
achieved.
· Even when a specimen is recorded by varying the compositional
arrangement many times, the specimen area can always be recorded
with an optimum exposure.
· When a linked picture like panoramic photo is created, the joints
between pictures are not noticeable when their exposure is constant.
1. Move the specimen slide to bring the area where you want to lock the
exposure time at the center.
2. Press the AE LOCK button ² .The current exposure time is locked and
the AE LOCK indicator LED ³ lights up.
If the current metering mode is set to SPOT mode, it cannot be canceled
until AE LOCK is canceled.
Press the AE LOCK button again to cancel AE LOCK.
When AE LOCK is canceled, the exposure time display in the INFO
display becomes “- - - - - - -”.
