General control function
The heating operation of the Levana Aqua is general-
ly controlled using „manual“ or „automatic“ operation
mode (see chapter „Menu select“).
This means that, when operating in manual mode, the
appliance will continue heating at the selected power
level (1-5) until the control temperatures on the water
side have been reached.
When set to automatic mode, the appliance will keep
heating until either the selected room temperature or
the control temperatures on the water side have been
reached.
Control function on the water side
The Levana Aqua can be connected either with or with-
out a buffer tank.
Important:
When operating without a buffer tank, the
appliance may switch on and off (power cy-
cle) frequently. For this reason, we strongly
recommend that you operate the appliance
with a buffer tank.
When you switch it on, the appliance will detect auto-
matically if a buffer tank is installed by scanning both
buffer sensors.
Important:
Operating the appliance with the buffer tank
always requires that both buffer sensors be
installed.
Operation with buffer tank
When operating with a buffer tank, the temperature
control of the appliance will follow the temperature val-
ues set for „buffer ON“ and „buffer OFF“, which can be
set individually (see chapter „Settings buffer ON and
buffer OFF“).
The pump will not switch on until both of the following
conditions have been met:
1. The boiler temperature (water temperature in the
stove) must exceed 60°C.
2. The boiler temperature must be 5°C higher than the
temperature set for „buffer ON“.
The pump switches off if one of the following conditions
has been met:
1. The boiler temperature must be lower than 55°C.
2. The boiler temperature must be lower than the tem-
perature set for „buffer ON“ plus 5°C.
Operation without buffer tank
When operating without a buffer tank, the temperature
control of the appliance follows the boiler temperature
measured inside the appliance above the combustion
chamber.
When the boiler temperature drops below 65°C, the
appliance enables „heating“ mode, while it switches to
„burnout“ when the temperature exceeds 81°C.
The pump will switch on at a boiler temperature of 60°C
and switch off at a boiler temperature less than 55°C.
