Meeting Cable Requirements
You must have a serial interface cable that meets the following requirements:

The cable at the printer end must have a 25-pin male connector, such as a Cannon
DB-25P or equivalent.
-
The cable must be no more than 50 feet (15.2 m) long.
Refer to Table 3-1 for the correct cable.
