Cleaning the Copier

Clean the platen glass and the rear side of the platen glass
cover with a piece of well-wrung cloth dampened with water,
then wipe them with a dry cloth.

IMPORTANT

Be careful not to scratch the silver reflecting surface of the platen glass cover.

Originals That Have Fed Through the Feeder Are Dirty

If originals that have fed through the feeder (option) are dirty or if marks not on an
original appear in the copies, the feeder’s feeding belt need cleaning.
Follow the procedure below to clean the feeder’s feeding belt:

If streak marks appear on the originals, the feeder’s (option) rollers need cleaning. For
instructions on cleaning the feeder’s rollers, see “Cleaning the Feeder,” on p. 2-39.
