Procedures for connecting fluid lines and fittings are
provided in the following steps.
CAUTION: The heater inlet and outlet fittings use O-ring seals
which form a leak-proof hydraulic seal if tightened properly. To
prevent damage to seals, do not over-tighten fittings.
NOTE: Inlet and outlet fittings are

-in. NPT.
1. Install a fluid inlet fitting into the fluid inlet port (2). Tighten the fluid
inlet fitting to 2.08 kgm (15-ft-lb).
2. Install a fluid outlet fitting into the fluid outlet port (1). Tighten the fluid
outlet fitting to 2.08 kgm (15-ft-lb).
3. Install the fluid line from the pump to the heater fluid inlet fitting.
This section covers safety precautions and heater operation procedures.
Before operating a system equipped with a heater, system operators
should read all related component manuals that make up the system and
be familiar with safety precautions and operating characteristics of each
component. A thorough understanding of the system operation will help
obtain desired results and aid in troubleshooting.

WARNING: Make sure all equipment in the coating area is
properly grounded. Periodically check grounds. Sparks can
result from poor grounds and can cause fire or explosions.
WARNING: Inspect and maintain fire detection systems and
interlocks daily.
NOTE: The SCH-1 Heater is primarily used with the Select Coat system.
If you are using this heater with another system, contact your Nordson
representative for operation procedures.
Follow these procedures to startup your SCH-1 Heater.

Make sure the heater is securely connected to a true earth ground.

Make sure all heater fittings and fluid delivery system fittings are
tightened securely before activating the fluid pump.
S
Pressurize the fluid delivery system.
