This section contains troubleshooting procedures. These procedures
cover only the most common problems that you may encounter. If you
cannot solve the problem with the information given here, contact your
local Nordson representative for help.
Problem
Possible Cause
Corrective Action
1.
Insufficient heat at
application
Poor material circulation
Check the fluid filter. Clean if necessary.
If heat is still insufficient, reassemble the
heater and repeat heater startup. Refer
to
Operation.
Coating material baked on the inside
of the fluid passage body
Disassemble the heater and clean the
fluid passage body. Refer to
Repair for
procedures.
2.
No heat output
RTD failure
Replace the RTD.
Digital temperature controller failure
Replace the digital controller. Contact
your Nordson representative.
Blown fuse on workcell
Replace the fuse. Refer to the
appropriate Select Coat system manual.
Heater cartridge failure
Refer to Repair. Disconnect heater
cartridge leads 2 and L2 from terminal
block. Check for continuity between
heater cartridge leads 2 and L2. If
continuity is not present, replace the
heater cartridge.
Heat limiter is open
Check the continuity with a meter.
Replace the heater limiter if open. Refer
to
Repair.
3.
Low fluid output
Clogged fluid filter
Check the fluid filter and clean if
necessary.
Clogged fluid passages
Disassemble the heater and clean the
fluid passage body.
