it is able to power the system in the suspended state for the time to replace the flat battery with the
fully charged one.

The backup battery is charged by means of the main battery. For example, during the charging of
the main battery in its chamber the backup battery is being charged as well. Note that when the
main battery is not being charged, nevertheless it charges the backup battery, if need be.
