learning infrared commandS

In addition to the infrared control available from the remote control commands in

Figure 23

, the Amplifier

Module can learn the power, volume and mute command from any infrared remote control for control from
one hand held remote.

Steps for learning Infrared commands into the Amplifier Module

1. Press the Power button and  (Vol+) button simultaneously until the Power LED blinks orange.

2.  The Power, Vol+, Vol-, and Mute functions can be learned by the Cynema Soundfield Amplifier Module.

As an example, let’s start with the Vol+ command.  Press the Vol+ button on the Amplifier Module.   The
Power LED will light constant orange.

3.  Aim the TV remote at the Amplifier Module’s built in IR receiver from about 1 ft (30 cm) and press the

corresponding Vol+ button 4 times until the Power LED lights green.  This indicates that the Amplifier
Module has learned the command.

4.  Repeat steps 1 to 4 to teach commands to the remaining functions.

Note for cable/satellite users: If you plan to use the universal remote supplied with your cable/satellite box to operate your Cynema
Soundfield System, that universal remote itself may not be able to properly program the Cynema Soundfield System. Instead, use
the original remote control supplied with the television. Following programming with the television’s remote, the Cynema Soundfield
System will respond appropriately to the cable/satellite box universal remote.
