Change the Admin Password
For security reasons, you should change the gateway’s admin password on a regular basis.
It is strongly recommended that you enable password recovery, so that if you forget the password
you can recover it.
Note:
If you forget the admin password, you’ll need to reset your device to its default settings and go
through the device setup. (See
What Do I Do if I Forget the Administrator Password?
)
To change the administrator password:
1. On a computer or wireless device that is connected to your gateway, launch a Web browser.
2. In the address or URL field of your browser, type
http://myrouter

3. When prompted to log in, enter
admin
for the user name and type the password. (The default
password is

4. Click

General
>
Device
.
5. In the
Old Password
field, type the old password.
6. In the
New Password
field, type the new password (1–31 letters, numbers, and symbols).
7. In the
Confirm New Password
field, type the new password again.
8. Click
Submit

Software and Reset
From this page, you can save your current device settings and restore them later, update your
software, reset your device to default settings, and set your device startup options.
