6-10 Troubleshooting
1.
While monitoring the serial port, turn on the router. Wait for the following message:
Press Any key to enter Debug Mode within 3 seconds...

Press any key, and wait for the following message:
Enter Debug Mode

(Optional) Type atba1 to change the baud rate atba1 of the router to 38.4k, and then
change the baud rate of your terminal.
Changing the baud rate may be necessary if the file transfer is unreliable at 9600 baud.
4.
Type atur3, and wait for the following messages:
Now erase flash ROM for uploading...
Starting XMODEM upload......
5.
Send the binary file romfile0.340 using XMODEM transfer protocol from your terminal
program. Wait for the following message:
Programming successful....
6.
Restart the router.
Internal Manager Interface
The internal Manager interface is a menu-based interface that can be used for status monitoring
and debugging. The Manager interface is accessed through the Telnet utility or through a serial
terminal or terminal emulator attached to the Manager port.
You can access the internal Manager interface through the serial Manager port by using a terminal-
emulation program (such as HyperTerm) or by using a Telnet utility.
Default serial Manager port parameters are as follows:
• 9600 bps
Note: The character after atba is the number 1.
Note:
The internal Manager interface is not supported by NETGEAR for the Model
RH340 router for any purpose other than changing of the password.
