ISDN and
Enhanced ISDN
Daughtercard The Vanguard 320 with the ISDN daughtercard, provides serial and LAN devices
with access to public Integrated Service Digital Networks (ISDN).The ISDN
daughtercard provides a BRI U or S/T interface with RJ45 connectors on Port 1. The
ISDN S/T daughtercard provides a BRI S interface configured in a passive bus
arrangement. The enhanced ISDN BRI ST Data Daughtercard is supported on
Release 6.3 and greater software. Refer to the
Vanguard Daughtercard Installation
Guide (Part Number T0020) for more information.
Note
Only one ISDN daughtercard can be used per Vanguard 320 and this card must
be located in the Port 1 position.
DSU Daughtercard The DSU daughtercard functionality suits an extended range of 56 kbps
point-to- point DDS1 interfaces that conforms to AT&T 62310 or
ANSI T1E1.4/91-006.
The DSU is FCC Part 68 registered.
Diagnostic loopbacks from the telephone company are supported; local diagnostics
are activated from the CTP.
DIM Site
Daughtercard The DIM Site daughtercard provides optional V.24, V.35, V.36, or V.11 electrical
interfaces through a DB25 physical connector.
V.34 Daughtercard The Vanguard 320 supports the Vanguard V.34 Daughtercard. The Vanguard V.34
Daughtercard acts as a synchronous V.34 modem to communicate with other V.34
modems using bit-oriented or character oriented protocols over the analog PSTN.
The V.34 Daughtercard provides two RJ11 interface ports. For information on
configuring this daughtercard refer to the
3460 Fast’R User Guide (Part Number
T0022-01).
V.90 Daughtercard The V.90 modem daughtercard provides dial back-up for a customers PPP Async
applications. The V.90 uses a dual RJ-11 for connection to central offices, PBXs or
telephone systems. V.90 is designed for the Vanguard 320. The Vanguard V.90
daughtercard requires release 6.2 or greater software. For installation instructions
refer to the
Vanguard Daughtercard Installation Guide (Part Number T0020).
DSU DIM The Vanguard 320 supports the DSU DIM.
