Installing Vanguard 320 Hardware

Cabling the Vanguard 320

ISDN Cable

An RJ-11 ISDN cable comes with your Vanguard 320 when the ISDN option is
ordered. One end of the cable attaches directly to the Vanguard, and the other end
connects to the service provider’s outlet.

FT1/FE1 Cable

An RJ48C twisted pair cable comes with your Vanguard 320 when the FT1 or FE1
option is ordered. One end of the cable attaches directly to the Vanguard, and the
other end connects to the service provider's outlet.

Port Numbering for
Physical Ports 1
and 2

Daughtercards installed in ports 1 and 2 must be configured correctly. For example,
if you have installed a Dual E&M daughtercard in port 1 you must configure the port
as an E&M port. In addition, follow this port numbering scheme when configuring
the Vanguard 320:
