12. Fold Roller Gap Potentiometers:-
The Fold Roller Gaps are controlled by a mechanism which uses potentiometers to measure
their positions. This information is then available to the Operator on the Gap Set Screen. These
3 Pots, which are located at the bottom of the Gap-Set Mechanism on the Operator Side of the
machine, will all require calibrating:-
Enter the Gap-Set Screen by operating the Touch screen.
Lower the Delivery Unit, this enables the rollers to be rotated easily in either direction.
Insert an 80gsm Test Strip into the nip of the first Fold Roller by feeding the Test Strip
between the Lower Roller Shield & the Lower Guide. It may be necessary to move the
fold knives to gain access to the rollers.
Turn the 1st Gap Set Adjustment Knob (3rd from the left) until a light pull is evident on
the test strip. Loosen the right hand potentiometer coupling screw & Rotate the
pot until the display for Gap 1 reads 0.1. Finally tighten the coupling screw.
Insert an 80gsm Test Strip into the nip of the second Fold Roller by feeding the Test
Strip between the Paper Guide & Upper Roller Shield. It may be necessary to move
the fold knives to gain access to the rollers.
Turn the 2nd Gap Set Adjustment Knob (2nd from the left) until a light pull is evident on
the test strip. Loosen the centre potentiometer coupling screw & rotate the pot until the
display for Gap 2 reads 0.1. Finally tighten the coupling screw.
Insert an 80gsm Test Strip into the nip of the third Fold Roller by dropping the
Perforator Assembly down for direct access to the roller.
Turn the 3rd Gap Set Adjustment Knob (1st from the left) until a light pull is evident on
the test strip. Loosen the left hand potentiometer coupling screw & rotate the pot until
the display for Gap 3 reads 0.1. Finally tighten the coupling screw.
