Connectors and cable harnesses 

The DVR has six primary connectors. These connectors are identified on the side 
panel as J1 through J6 (see Figure 17 below). The DVR supports wire 
attachment direct to J connector screw-down terminals or via optional wire 
harnesses. Each option has its own benefits and limitations depending on the 
type of installation. Only the J6 video input connector requires the use of a 
harness.

Connecting the DVR 

The subsequent sections provide information needed to attach field wires directly 
to the J connector. The equivalent harness connection information is also 
provided. In general, harnesses provide an easy means of connecting and 
disconnecting the DVR from the vehicle for service, maintenance, or repair.
