Trouble-Shooting

If there are any problems with your fax machine, please read the following
instructions carefully. If none of the suggested solutions solve the pro-
blem, please contact the technical service.

Never try to disassemble or to fix the machine yourself. You might inflict
more damage or suffer from electric shock.

Error Message

Problem

Solution

No message appears on the dis-
play.

Make sure the power plug is connected properly.
Check whether the power switch is on.

Check whether the wall socket is working properly by
connecting another device.

The fax machine is switched on but
does not receive.

Make a copy to check if the machine is working prop-
erly. Make sure there is paper in the paper cassette.

Check whether the machine is in manual reception
mode or memory reception mode, whether there is pa-
per in the paper cassette and / or enough memory is
available.

The ADF does not work.

Check the size of the document and if it is placed prop-
erly in the feeder.

The reception print
shows black
lines

Make a copy with your machine. If the copy shows no
lines the problem is at the other location.

The display
shows ”Paper Jam”
or ”Document Jam”

Please follow the procedures explained earlier in this

chapter. If the problem persists, contact the technical
service.

No dial tone
can be heard.

Remove the fax plug from the wall outlet and check
your telephone. If the telephone works properly, con-
tact the technical service.
