CM System User’s Manual

ping –s host

The –s option sends datagrams containing specified datagram size

in bytes. Count specifies number of bytes/datagram, and timeout
specifies time duration of transmission.

reboot

After changing parameters issue the

reboot

command to update the NMU. Requires

administrative-level access to execute.

reboot NE

Reboots NMC of near-end radio.

reset_log

This administrative-level command responds to its options as follows:

reset_log system

Resets system log.

reset_log radio

Resets radio and alarm log.

route

The route command manually manipulates the network routing tables. Requires
administrative-level access to execute.

add

Adds a route.

delete

Deletes a specific route.

host

Name of host IP address

net

Specifies network

destination

Destination of host or network

gateway

Name of specified gateway

metric

Lists a number specifying the number of hops to reach destination.

setup_ppp

This administrative-level command lets you configure the PPP interface of the radio
(

IF

2).

• Set one radio of a hop as the client and one as the server.

• Enable or disable RIP.

• Connect the first radio of a radio subnet as an intermediate gateway.

• Use

reboot

when finished to save this configuration to the NMU.

shutdown

This administrative-level command enables the connected radio NMC to be shut down
(Y), or remain on (N).This command ensures that flash memory is updated and placed
in a safe state for removing power.

ver

Displays the NMU software version, part number and build date. Code size and check-
sum also displays to aid in troubleshooting. For example:

Version v2.2 PN# 4600026-01 (build 06-12-02)

Code Size 660096 bytes - Checksum 0x2e23e12

whoami

This command displays name of connected radio and user name used during login. For
example:

Radio name: west

User: admin

radioname

Type radioname and press return to display the current name. To change the name use
radioname [-s (newname)]. Do not use spaces.

syndestype

Displays radio interface type. To change the Syndes interface type use: syndestype [-s
(config)] where config is one of 4DS1, 8DS1, 12DS1, 28DS1, 1DS3, 3DS3, or OC3
(155Mbit/s).
