Frequency Task
—
If your analyzer uses an Expo Technologies MiniPurge
®
System With
eTimer, refer to the system’s manual for maintenance frequency and
procedures. This manual is shipped with the analyzer.
—
To test the pressure of the Electronics Enclosure, use the Cabinet
Pressure Port on the Solenoid Block.
Every 3 Years
Battery Pack, Expo MiniPurge

Preventing, Detecting, and Locating a Plug in the
Sample System
Preventing a plug in the sample system:
While various factors can contribute to plugs in the sample system, plugs
can be avoided in many cases by:
• Maintaining the ambient temperature around the analyzer, and the
operating temperatures for each analyzer temperature zone.
From the
MAI
screen, check the real-time temperature for each
Temperature Zone and compare it to its
Set Point
temperature (on the
TStPt
screen).
Also, verify the ambient temperature surrounding the analyzer and
the operating temperature of its sample system is at least 10 °C (18
°F) above the process temperature. The exception to this is the SCU
(optional), whose operating temperature operates nominally 5–15 °C
(41–59 °F) below the sample system temperature. The Sample Probe
(or SCU) and Vent Valve (if used) assemblies should be insulated using
the insulation supplied by AMETEK, plus additional insulation (by
customer) if necessary. It is extremely important to maintain a rela-
tively stable ambient temperature in the vicinity of the analyzer and
its sample system, with no rapid temperature fluctuations.
The risk of developing a collection of liquids in low spots or plugging
in the sample system is further reduced by sloping the Sample Line
and Vent Line (if used) from the analyzer back to the sample extrac-
tion point.
