Air Conditioning System
Rapid cooling:
• Turn tem perature sw itch 8
(depressed) and air volume
control knob 1 clockw ise to the
stop.
• Push lever 4 com pletely to the
right and lever 5 com pletely to
the left. Open outlets 7.
• Close side windows com pletely.
(Warm air inside the car may
first be evacuated by driving
briefly with all the side windows
down.)
Mist on outside of w in d sh ie ld :
In damp weather the outside of the
windshield may fog. In this case,
turn lever 4 to the right. Less
cooled a ir is then supplied to the
windshield.
Mist on inside of w indow s:
In damp weather the air condi­
tioning system can be sw itched on
in addition to the heater. Moisture
is then extracted either from the
fresh a ir o r from the circulation air,
depending upon the setting of tem ­
perature sw itch 8. This cooled and
dehydrated air can be reheated to
a pleasant tem perature by posi­
tioning heater controls 2 and 3
accordingly. This action quickly
dries up the windows.
Important!
In o rder to keep the air condi­
tioning system in good w orking
condition at all times, it is neces­
sary to operate the system briefly
at least once a month even during
the seasons it is norm ally not
required. Make sure that the
am bient tem perature is above
36° F (2° C) since the A /C com ­
pressor w ill not operate below this
temperature. To avoid annoying
cold air, switch blow er to the lowest
speed only and turn on the heater,
if desired.
