A t very low te m p e ra tu re s the flu id ity
o f No. 2-D diesel fu e l may becom e
in s u ffic ie n t due to p a ra ffin separa­
tio n .
To avoid m a lfu n c tio n s , No. 2-D
diesel fuel o f a low ered c lo u d p o in t
is m arketed d u rin g th e co ld season.
A t te m p e ra tu re s b e lo w 0° Cl + 32° F
use w in te riz e d o r No. 1 diesel fuel
on ly. If n o t available, a c e rta in q u a n ­
tity o f kerosene may be added. M ix­
ing o n ly to be d o n e w ith in the c a rs ’
fu e l ta n k. Kerosene has to be fille d
in befo re th e diesel fuel.
E n g in e p o w e r may d ro p a c c o rd in g
to th e p ro p o rtio n o f kerosene. For
th is reason, keep p e rce n ta g e of
ke ro se n e added to th e m in im u m
ne ce ssita te d by th e a m b ie n t te m p ­
erature.
The fo llo w in g ta b le can be used as
a reference, if a d d in g o f kerosene
b e co m e s necessary. The m ixin g
ra tio s show n re fe r to th e to ta l m ix ­
ture.
Even in e xtre m e c lim a tic c o n d i­
tio n s, th e m a xim u m m ix tu re ratio
s h o u ld n o t exceed 50%.

even at lo w te m p e ra tu re s.
