th e V e h ic le
The rear to w in g eye is w elded
fro m b e lo w to th e rig h t side o f the
spare tire co m p a rtm e n t. The fro n t
to w in g eye is lo ca te d b e h ind the
fla p in th e fro n t b u m p e r panel
(arrow ).
Flap rem oval: Insert fin g e r in the
o p e n in g o f th e flap, p u ll th e fla p o u t
s lig h tly and d o w n w a rd to rem ove.
To in s ta ll th e flap, e n gage th e flap
at th e to p and press in th e b o tto m
securely.
E ngage h o o k o f to w in g ba r fro m the
rig h t side o f th e to w in g eye. T his
w ill e n su re ad e q u a te cle a ra n ce be­
tw een th e to w in g b ar and the
b u m p e r panel o p e n in g d u rin g tu rn s.
O nly to w -s ta rt ve h ic le w ith th e b a t­
te ry c o n n e c te d and th e key in ste e r­
ing lo c k p o s itio n 2.
W arning!
W hen th e e n g in e is n o t ru n n in g ,
b o th th e se rvice brake and the
s te e rin g are w ith o u t p o w e r assist­
ance. U n d e r these c irc u m s ta n c e s , a
m u ch g re a te r e ffo rt is necessary to
steer o r sto p th e vehicle.
Tow -starting a Vehicle
with Autom atic Transm ission

T u rn key in s te e rin g lo c k to p o s i­
tio n 2 and have ve h ic le tow ed.
A fte r a tta in in g a to w in g speed of
30 km /h/18 m ph (w ith co ld tra n s m is ­
sion) o r 50 km /h/30 m ph (w ith w arm
tra n s m is s io n ), s h ift s e le c to r lever to
p o s itio n “ 2 ” to to w -s ta rt th e engine.
T o u ch th e a c c e le ra to r o n ly w hen
th e e n g in e sta rts firin g . As soon as
th e e n g in e has sta rte d , im m e d ia te ly
re tu rn s e le c to r lever to “ N ” .
It is im p o rta n t to a llo w th e e n g in e to
idle fo r at least 1 m in u te before
s ta rtin g o ff because th e p re g lo w in g
p ro ce ss sta rts w hen th e key is in
s te e rin g lo c k p o s itio n 2 and is not
im m e d ia te ly d is ru p te d a fte r th e en­
g in e has been to w -s ta rte d . D uring
th is tim e th e p re g lo w in g process is
c u t o u t a u to m a tic a lly .
If th e e n g in e has n o t fire d a fte r a
fe w se conds, s h ift th e s e le c to r lever
to “ N” to p ro te c t th e tra n sm issio n
fro m dam age.
For a new s ta rtin g atte m p t, to w -
s ta rt th e v e h ic le fo r som e tim e
again w ith th e s e le c to r lever in p o si­
tio n “ N ” and repeat th e s ta rtin g p ro ­
cedure.
