3. Once your application is created, configure the Microsoft Windows CE
connection manager to build and transfer your application from your
development computer to your Matrox Iris GT. To configure the connection
manager, refer to the
Configuring the Microsoft Windows CE Connection Manager
section.
4. Debug your application using Microsoft Visual Studio. This includes, starting the
connection manager, launching the CMACCEPT security step, compiling and
building your application, and using the Microsoft Visual Studio remote tools.

5. Optionally, copy your application to multiple Matrox Iris GT smart cameras. For
more information, refer to the Copying your application to multiple Matrox Iris GT
cameras section.
You can compile all the MIL examples as a single project using Microsoft Visual
Studio. For more information, refer to the
MIL examples section.
Creating your MIL application
The following subsections deal with important aspects of programming with MIL
for Microsoft Windows CE under Microsoft Visual Studio

When designing an application for Microsoft Windows CE, keep the following
points in mind:
• Only a subset of the functions available in the full Microsoft C run-time library
are supported by the Microsoft C run-time library for Microsoft Windows CE.
For a list of the supported functions, refer to the Microsoft Visual Studio on-line
help file.
• If using a MIL application coded for other windows platforms, make certain it is
portable to Microsoft Windows CE. For more information about creating a
portable MIL application, refer to the sections on portability found in the
Building
an application chapter of the MIL User Guide . Note that only Unicode calls to the
Microsoft Windows CE operating system are supported.
