Maxedia 4
The KeyStoning window is used to set Framing and Keystoning for the output of the Maxedia. The
top portion of this window is used only if you are using splitting a single Maxedia Engine Output over
multiple displays or projectors. From the drop down box in the upper left select the number of
displays you will be using. The three buttons with icons of a monitor are used to select which display
you will be adjusting the Keystoning and/or Framing on. The + and - buttons can also be used to
select the desired display to work on. If using a single display select No MultiScreen from the drop
down box and the buttons at the top right will be disabled.
Use the Keystoning and Framing buttons on the right to select which function you will be adjusting
with the fader belts. When Framing is selected, the belts in the Shift section will move shutters in
and out of the Upper, Bottom, Left or Right side of the output. The shutters will be parallel to the side
of the output until a new angle is selected for them with a Rotate belt. Framing does not affect the
location of pixels in the output. If a shutter is over the top of a pixel it will not be displayed, if no
shutter is over it, it will be displayed. When Keystoning is selected, the belts will stretch or squeeze
the output further into the display or out of it. The Rotate belts will adjust the angle of the new edge of
the output. Keystoning will distort the output, allowing you to show all of your out put on an odd
shaped screen. The Defaults button at the lower right will set the belts back to 50% for all values of
the currently selected function. You can save a Keystoning or Framing preset by pressing record the
selecting one of the slots at the bottom of this window. Presets can be recalled by clicking on the
preset button.
Mask Adjustment
The X and Y belts in the Mask Adjustment window allow you to position the mask on the screen. The
Scale belt increases and decreases the size of the mask. The Rot belt rotates the mask thru the Z
axis. The Mask Blur belt adjusts the sharpness of the edge of the mask. The Threshold belt
changes the opacity of the mask, lower values allow the output to bleed thru the mask, higher values
begin to block out even unmasked areas of the output.
The Defaults button will set all belt values back to their default, while leaving the current mask
selected. The Clear Mask button will remove the mask from the screen while leaving the belts at the
values to which they were set.
