Blending
A cue can contain up to 20 layers (6 layers in a Maxedia Compact). The way these layers interact
with each other is determined by their
Blending settings. Layers are stacked one on top of the
next based on their layer number. The Blending options in layer 3 will determine how much of layer 2
is visible. The Blending options in layer 4 will determine how much of the RESULT OF THE
BLENDING OF LAYERS 2 AND 3 is visible, and so forth. Many of the
Shader Effects (Mask, Add,
Mul, Subtract, Reverse Subtract, Max and Min) can be reproduced using blending between two layers
rather than using a shader between the player media and shader media. One benefit of using the
Blending method is increased control over
3D Position and 3D Rotation of each piece of media
individually. You may choose to use the shader method instead if you have many layers in a cue or
positioning is not a problem.
Recording Cues
When you have completed building your cue you must record it to be able to recall it later.
1. Click CueByCue Mixer in the upper left corner.
2. Select the cue page where you would like to save the cue.
3. Click Record in the lower left corner.
4. Click on the blank cue slot where you would like to record it.
If you try to record a cue to a location where a cue already exists you will see this popup.
Replace Cue
This will replace the current cue in that location in the CueByCue Pages but the original cue will
remain in the
Cue Directory . Any other copies of the original cue in the CueByCue Pages will
not be effected.
Update Reference
This will replace the current cue in that location in the CueByCue Pages AND in the Cue
Directory . Any other copies of the original cue in the CueByCue Pages will be changed to the
