Maxedia 4

Performance and Quality

This screen gives you some options that will limit the workload on the CPU and Memory to ensure
that the Maxedia runs smoothly during your show.  

These settings will affect the way some cues are played back and should not be adjusted after

programming is complete without double checking that all cues still play as you designed them to.

Under the A-B Configuration - Performance Settings there are two buttons that adjust how the invisible
side of the A-B mixer reacts.  With the Freeze invisible cue button highlighted (Red), only the side
that is active will continue to be rendered when the transition is complete, saving CPU usage. With
the Unload invisible cue button highlighted (Red), the data for the invisible cue will be dropped from the
RAM.  This will save memory but will also require the cue to be reloaded if you transition back to it.  If
you are doing zero time transitions in A-B mode, you may want to leave this setting off so that the
cue can be loaded into memory in advance of the transition.

In the Video Memory Configuration section there are three sliders that let you select the maximum
number of Standard Definition, High Definition, and Full-High Definition files that the Maxedia will play
at a given time.  Once you have set each slider to the desired number of files, click the Apply button
to finalize the change.  If a cue has been recorded using more files than the maximum set in this
screen, then when it is played back only the first layers up to the set maximum will be displayed and
the higher layers will be ignored.  If you exceed the maximum number of files while programming a
cue, you will be allowed to add the additional layers, but the files will not play.
