CYLINDER HEAD
Installing the cylinder head
Checking the cylinder liner standout
• Place the Measuring plate [81] (2) on the cylinder
liner
• Screw in and tighten the Hexagon shank bolt [82]
(4) with Washer [83]
• Place the Dial gauge holder [79] (5) with Dial
gauge [80] (3) on the Measuring plate [81] (2)
• Place the dial gauge tip (1) on the crankcase
• Zero the
Dial gauge [80] (3)
• Carefully place the dial gauge tip (1) on the
cylinder liner and note the difference on the dial
gauge
The permitted cylinder liner standout is 0.035 –
0.085 mm .

a new cylinder liner/crankcase,
see Checking the
cylinder liner, 372 .
Putting on the cylinder head
• Place the new cylinder head gasket (1) over the
alignment pins
• Place the cylinder head (2) over the alignment pins
• Thinly apply
White T assembly paste on the
contact surface of the new cylinder head bolts (1)
• Screw in the cylinder head bolts (3)
Tightening sequence for cylinder head
• Screw in the cylinder head bolts and tighten until
nger-tight in the tightening sequence 1 to 6
Pre-tightening the cylinder head bolts
• Attach the Aligning bar [78] (2) on the exhaust side
of the cylinder heads
• Tighten the cylinder head bolts as per the
tightening sequence using a socket and a torque
wrench
• Tighten the cylinder head bolts (1) to Initial torque
50 Nm
• Tighten the cylinder head bolts (1) to 2nd torque
150 Nm
• Tighten the cylinder head bolts (1) to 3rd torque
300 Nm
