7.7 LUBRICATING THE WINDROWER
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, before servicing
windrower or opening drive covers, follow
procedures in Section 7.1, Preparation for
Servicing.

The greasing points are marked on the machine
by decals showing a grease gun and grease
interval in hours of operation. See illustration
below.
Log hours of operation and use the
"Maintenance Checklist" provided to keep a
record of scheduled maintenance. Refer to
Section 7.15, Maintenance Schedule.
7.7.1 Procedure
DANGER
Stop engine and remove key from ignition
before leaving operator's seat for any
reason. A child or even a pet could engage
an idling machine.
a. Wipe grease fitting with a clean cloth before
greasing, to avoid injecting dirt and grit.
b. Inject grease through fitting with grease gun until
grease overflows fitting, except where noted.
c. Leave excess grease on fitting to keep out dirt.
d. Replace any loose or broken fittings
immediately.
e. If fitting will not take grease, remove and clean
thoroughly. Also clean lubricant passageway.
Replace fitting if necessary.
