Paper Handling:
Problem: Recommendation:
The printer does not feed paper. If there is paper in the paper tray, make sure it is straight. If the paper is
curled, straighten it before printing. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the
paper. Turn the stack over and put it back in the paper tray.
Cut the amount of paper in the paper tray, and then try again.
Make sure that manual feed mode is not chosen in the printer driver.
The printer does not feed paper
from the MP tray. Fan the paper well and put it back in firmly.
A paper jam has occurred. Clear the jammed paper. See Paper Jams and How to Clear Them below.
The printer does not print Make sure that the cable is connected to the printer.
Paper Jams and How to Clear Them:
If a paper jam occurs, the printer will flash the yellow Paper LED:
WARNING
After you have just used the printer, some internal parts of the printer will be extremely hot. When you open the
front cover or back cover of the printer, use caution and avoid touching hot components.
If the jammed paper is removed completely by following the steps below, you can install the paper
tray first, and then close the front cover. The printer will resume printing automatically.
If the printer does not start printing automatically, press Go. If the printer still does not start printing,
check that all the remaining jammed paper has been removed from the printer. Then try printing
again.
NOTE
Always remove all paper from the paper tray and straighten the stack when you add new paper. This helps
prevent multiple sheets of paper from feeding through the printer at one time and prevents paper jams
1) Open the front cover.
2) Slowly remove drum unit
and toner cartridge
assembly.
3) Remove paper tray.
4) Close the front cover.
