Product Overview

The GFS-2 switch provides seamless bi-directional integration of Fibre

Channel (FC) and Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) networks over long distances

without disruption or technology changes. The GFS-2 provides entry to the

LAN/SAN environment using IP Translation. Its OpenIP™ architecture

provides bridging, tunneling, and resource allocation services across the FC

fabric to the GbE boundary and back again.
The GFS-2 provides one GbE and one FC port for implementing a Gateway

between a FC and a GbE environment.

Key Features

Bi-directional and full-bandwidth

Full bandwidth connectivity between all ports. The GFS-2 provides seamless

connectivity of Fibre Channel over an IP network. The 2 Gb/s backplane on the

GFS-2 allows for full duplex operation on all ports simultaneously.

Versatility

The GFS-2 is supplied with one FC port and one GbE port.

•

Flexible control

Remote control, fabric management, and monitoring are provided using

SANman™.
