Fastbytes

This procedure enables turning off the Fastbytes protocol. Fastbytes is 
an enhance parallel protocol which, when turned on, allows the printer 
to receive data faster than in standard protocol. It can cause problems 
with some systems which may require turning Fast Byte off.

Note:  For 4047, enter this mode from the main menu.

1.  Enter the Advanced Setup Menu.

2.

Select [FASTBYTES]. 

3.

Select [OFF] to turn off Fastbytes protocol.

Hex Trace

This procedure enables printing the Hex Trace. Hex Trace allows you to 
get a hexadecimal printout of the data stream sent to the printer.

Note:  For 4047, enter this mode from the main menu.

1.  Enter the Advanced Setup Menu. 

2.

Select [HEX TRACE]. 

3.

Select [ON] to turn On the Hex Trace mode.

4.

The Hex Trace mode remains on until the printer is reset or 
powered off.

Fuser Temperature

Use this procedure to adjust the fuser temperature. Adjusting the fuser 
temperature may solve customer problems with paper curl, use of low 
grade paper, and letterhead melting on some types of paper.

Note:  For 4047, enter this mode from the Diagnostics menu.

1.  Enter the Advanced Setup Menu. 

2.

Select the paper source being used. 

3.

Select [+] to increase the temperature 5 degrees C.

4.

Select [-] to decrease the temperature 5 degrees C.

5.

The display indicates the setting b10 to -10. 

6.

Select [SAVE] to save the setting.
