PROFINET - Electrical connection
Notice!
For contacting
BUS IN
and
BUS OUT
, we recommend our ready-made PROFINET cable
(see chapter 11.4.5 "Accessory ready-made cables for PROFINET").
To set up a PROFINET network with other participants with linear topology, the AMS 348
i
makes available another PROFINET-RT interface. The use of this interface drastically
reduces the cabling requirements, as only the first AMS 348
i
requires a direct connection
to the switch, via which it can communicate with the host. All other AMS 348
i
can be
connected in series to the first AMS 348
i
For the connection of two AMS 348
i
, the "KB ET - … - SSA" ready-made cables are
preferred, see table 11.4.5 "Accessory ready-made cables for PROFINET" on page 100.
If you use user-configurable cables, note the following:
Notice!
The entire connection cable must be shielded. The shielding connection must be at the same
potential on both ends of the data line. This prevents potential compensating currents over
the shield and possible interference coupling by compensating currents. The signal lines
must be stranded in pairs.
Use CAT 5 cable for the connection.
