supply is lit also.
Removing the system battery
Use this information to remove the CMOS battery.
Before you remove the system battery, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page 75.
2. If the compute node is installed in a Lenovo ThinkServer n400 Enclosure Type 5495, remove it (see
“Removing a compute node from a chassis” on page 77 for instructions).
3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with
the bezel pointing toward you.
The following notes describe information that you must consider when replacing the battery.
• Lenovo has designed this product with your safety in mind. The lithium battery must be handled correctly
to avoid possible danger. If you replace the battery, you must adhere to the following instructions.
• If you replace the original lithium battery with a heavy-metal battery or a battery with heavy-metal
components, be aware of the following environmental consideration. Batteries and accumulators that
contain heavy metals must not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. They will be taken back
free of charge by the manufacturer, distributor, or representative, to be recycled or disposed of in a
proper manner.
• After you replace the battery, you must reconfigure the server and reset the system date and time.
