( 9 ) Adjusting fixing pressure (reference)
Adjust fixing pressure when paper creases, fixing is defective, or after a fixing pressure
spring has been replaced.

Procedure
1. Make a copy with the original holder opened and turn off the main switch

immediately as the paper leading edge is ejected (when the center of the paper is
passing the fixing unit).

2. Wait for about five seconds and open the eject cover to take out the paper.
3. Measure the width of the black belt printed on the paper (indicating the part which

stopped in the fixing unit). Adjust the fixing pressure until the width measures the
specified values with following procedures.

Loosen the pressure adjustment nut (B).

2

Turn the pressure adjustment nut (A) and decide the position of the fixing
pressure adjustment plate.

3

Tighten the pressure adjustment nut (B) and fix the fixing pressure adjustment
plate.
