Elimination

Wrapping material
is not transported at
the start process.

Starter cord on the hydraulic starter
mechanism is too long. On starting the
drive rollers do not press against each
other.

Oil the bearings or undo the screws on the
pressure rollers slightly then lock again.

Pressure rollers in the starter are too
hard to move.

Possible Cause

Fault

Twine is not fed in at
on starting.

Twine slips off the
edges of the bales.

Crop is very dry or crumbly.

Set the twine limiter in the binding
mechanism inwards.

Drive slowly at the end of the baling
process and continue to compress before
binding without feeding any more crop.

Cutting edge on the blade is not sharp
enough.

The twine is not cut off
at the same time in
double twine binding.

Sharpen the blades. Cutter must be free
of paint. Readjust blade on excenter.

Adjust the twine brake.

Twine brake set too lightly.

Pressure rollers in the starter are too
