9–2: MFX 1
9–3: MFX 2
Makes effect parameter settings for the MFX1 and 2 effects
that were selected in the Master FX page (9–2). (
Effect dynamic modulation (Dmod) is controlled on the
global MIDI channel “MIDI Channel” (Global P1: 1–1a).

9–4: Master EQ
The master EQ is a three-band stereo EQ. It is used to adjust
the overall tonality of the sound immediately before the L/R
bus is output to the AUDIO OUTPUT (MAIN OUT) L/
MONO and R jacks (
The MEQ High Gain and MEQ Low gain can be controlled
by assigning a modulation source to the “Low Gain Mod-
Src:” and the “High Gain Mod-Src:” functions on this page.
9–5: VALVE FORCE
Here you can adjust the Valve Force settings. Valve Force is
an analog circuit that uses a vacuum tube (a.k.a., “valve”).
By using Valve Force either alone, in conjunction with an
Insert effect, or by placing it just before the final output, you
can add a light boost or the distinctive tonal character that is
unique to vacuum tubes.
Use the VALVE FORCE [ON/OFF] key to turn Valve
Force on/off.
Valve Force is a stereo-in/stereo-out analog circuit.
Valve Force parameter settings are saved indepen-
dently for each program.
9–5a: VALVE FORCE
Input Trim
[000...127]
Sets the input level to Valve Force. Adjust this if unpleasant
distortion occurs when you raise the “Ultra Boost” value.
This adjustment also affects the way in which the low fre-
quencies are output by “Ultra Boost,” and the effect pro-
duced by the vacuum tubes.
You can also use the VALVE FORCE [INPUT TRIM]
knob to set this.
Ultra Boost
[000...127]
Adjusts the mix level to the Ultra Boost (ultra-low-frequency
boost) circuit located in the beginning of Valve Force. With a
setting of 000, the signal will not be sent through this; i.e.,
ultra boost will be bypassed. Raising this value will boost
the ultra-low range and simultaneously emphasize the edge
of the sound. This is particularly effective on the kick and
bass drum.
You can also use the VALVE FORCE [ULTRA BOOST]
knob to set this.
Tube Gain
[000...127]
Adjusts the input gain to the vacuum tube. The vacuum
tube produces a distinctive tonality and distortion.
You can also use the VALVE FORCE [TUBE GAIN]
knob to set this.
Output Level
[000...127]
Sets the output level from Valve Force. This lets you adjust
the signal level while maintaining the distinctive Valve
Force tonal character.
If “Placement” is set to Final, this will adjust the output level
to L/MONO and R. Lower the level if unwanted distortion
occurs in the output.
If you set “Placement” to Insert (Use 3/4 BUS), this adjusts
the output level to the ADC (Analog Digital Converter)
which converts the analog signal into a digital signal. If
“ADC OVERLOAD !!” appears, the input is too high; adjust
the level until this warning is no longer displayed.
