3.5.1.1
Removing the Optical Device Tray from the Chassis
1. Disconnect the power and data connectors from the interposer board on the back of
the optical drive.
2. Loosen the blue captive thumbscrew on the optical drive tray. (“A” in
Figure 37
)
3. Pull the drive tray out of the chassis. (“B”)
4. If a new drive will not be used to replace the existing one, install the optical drive
filler panel into the drive opening and fasten the two accompanying screws. (“A”
and “B” in
Figure 38
)
Caution:
To ensure proper cooling, the optical drive opening cannot be left empty.
5. Remove the interposer board on the back of the optical drive for use on the new
replacement drive.
