Putting the MCO 25 plus into Operation
5.1
General Information
The device is a microprocessor-controlled continuous-wave CO
2
laser with a maximum laser
output of 50 W at the handpiece. The entire system including laser tube, high-voltage supply,
closed-circuit water cooling, pilot laser, safety shutter and control interface (control panel) is
integrated into one single casing.
The mirror joint arm is mounted at the top of the device so that the user can perform the
operation easily and in a wide action radius. Various handpieces and accessories increase the
application range of the device. The control panel has a convenient and user-friendly design. It
offers easily understandable and uncomplicated operation of the laser.
5.2
Setting up the MCO 25 plus
The device must be set up in such a way that the mains cable on the rear of the device can be
disconnected quickly and easily.
NOTICE
Danger of injuries due to electrical shock resulting from incorrect connection of the
device!
In order to avoid the risk of electric shock, this device may only be connected to a grounded
mains supply.
NOTICE
If the device temperature is not in the permissible operating range, the device cannot be
activated.

Before initial use, leave the device in the application room until it has reached room
temperature. See section 13 “Technical Data”, page 109.

When changing locations, before starting the device make sure that the device
temperature has adapted to the ambient temperature. Also see section 5.3 “Relocating
the Device”, page 28.
NOTICE
Ensure sufficient ventilation!
•
The cooling air inlets on the sides of the device must not be covered by table cloths,
blankets, curtains or other objects.
•
Keep a clearance or distance to the wall of at least 30 cm so that the ventilation of the
MCO 25 plus laser can work properly.
