3.1.2 Brush system - contact pressure adjustment
Contact pressure adjustment
The brush contact pressure is adjusted by the
lifting motor (M20). If the required contact pres-
sure is set at the display (adjustable using the
operator menu, see Chapter 3.3), the electronics
automatically evaluates the brush motors’ cur-
rent consumption. The electronic controls re-
tracts or extends the lifting motor accordingly in
order to maintain a constant brush contact pres-
sure. The lifting motor is switched off and kept in
position C (see chapter 5.3.3), depending on the
brush motor’s current consumption.
Example:
4 bars of contract pressure are set at the display.
This corresponds to a brush motor current con-
sumption of 50 A . The electronics relieve or load
the brush motors through the lifting motor until
the 50 A are reached. This current is then auto-
matically retained.
Note:
It the brush head tends to severe vibrations
(audible up and down movements), the
control speed v of the lifting motor (M20) can
be reduced using the parameter setup (see
Chapter 5.3).
The limit position of the lifting motor is
determined by the electrical current limiter.
The lifting motor’s shut-off function via
microswitches can be activated/deactivated
using the system parameters (Chapter 5.3).
The lifting motor’s shut-off function is not
activated in the factory.
