5.5.2.
Cleaning infected objects
The user can enable a mode in which the program will attempt to clean infected
objects and, in the event of successful removal of a virus, replace infected
objects with disinfected copies. If the object fails to be disinfected it will be
quarantined.
To enable the cleaning mode for infected objects, set the following
parameters:
1. In
the
Kernel options
of the
Scan of mail
window (see Figure 17)
check the
Yes
check-box for the
Disinfect
parameter if it was
not checked. Repeat this procedure for the
Scan of bases
window.
2. Open
the
Clean object
or
Disinfected object
status window (see
Figure 19).
3. Select
Replace
as the object processing method.
4. Open
the
Infected object
status window.
5. Select
Quarantine
as the infected object processing method.
As a result, users will only have access to mail message and database objects
that were not infected and/or successfully disinfected (see Figure 23). All the
objects that fail to be disinfected will be stored in the quarantine databases.
In addition, the user can enable the following modes:
•
Notification of the recipients, the senders, and other users about blocked
infected objects (see section 5.4.3 on page 43).
•
Inserting the check-up mark in the message body (see section 5.4.4 on
page 45);
•
Logging all actions in the report database log (see section 5.4.5 on
page 46).
